Frequently Asked Questions About About Us

Q1. How long has Saroj Fabrics been in business?

A1. Saroj has served the Indian fabric market for over 45 years, beginning as a single Mumbai retail store and growing to three flagship locations (Andheri West, Vile Parle, and Ahmedabad) plus the saroj.in online flagship. Three generations of family expertise inform the curation.

Q2. Where are Saroj's physical stores located?

A2. Saroj operates three retail stores: Andheri West Mumbai (Kshitij, Shop No. 2, Veera Desai Road, opposite Andheri Sports Complex), Vile Parle West Mumbai (New Shubham Bldg., Bajaj Road), and Ahmedabad Gujarat. Visit hours are 11 AM to 8 PM Monday to Saturday. Get directions via Google Maps from saroj.in/contact.

Q3. Does Saroj design and manufacture its own fabrics?

A3. Saroj curates fabrics from over 200 weaver and printer partners across India: Banaras, Chanderi, Sanganeri, Bagru, Paithan, Surat, Bangalore, and more. We also operate in-house dyeing for custom-dyed pure silks and viscose. We do not mass-manufacture — our value is in curation, quality control, and connecting global buyers with traditional Indian crafts.

Q4. How does Saroj guarantee fabric quality?

A4. Every metre that ships from Saroj passes through a 4-stage quality check: weaver/printer verification, fabric inspection on receipt, photography QC, and pre-dispatch inspection. Pure silk and pure linen products undergo composition verification. Damaged or defective metres are replaced free of charge.

Q5. Can I buy Saroj fabrics in stores outside Mumbai and Ahmedabad?

A5. Saroj does not have physical stores outside Mumbai and Ahmedabad currently. However, saroj.in delivers across India and worldwide. International customers in the US, UAE, UK, and Australia regularly order from us. Email contact@saroj.in to request stocking partnerships.

Q6. Is Saroj a wholesale supplier or retail-only?

A6. Saroj operates both. Retail customers shop saroj.in or visit our physical stores. Wholesale and bulk orders (MOQ 25 metres, fashion designers, boutique owners, exporters) are handled separately via the Bulk Enquiry page. Wholesale clients receive dedicated account management.

Q7. Why should I choose Saroj over other Indian fabric retailers?

A7. Saroj differentiates on three axes: range (over 10,000 active SKUs covering pure silk, linen, cotton, embroidery, prints, dyeable), heritage (45+ years of family expertise across three generations), and sourcing depth (direct relationships with traditional weaving and printing clusters). Pure silk and Banarasi are our strongest categories.
